The great purge of 2008!

Ha! What are we purging here? Our stomach contents. ICK! Yup, you got it. A stomach virus has hit our household. It's a 24-48 kind and of course hits us one by one. I left the house for the first time all week on Thursday only to be reclaimed by the walls of my home while the virus attacked my body.

Spring! Oh how I'd love to see thee! I hope this is all over soon.

Square foot gardening!

This is the adventure we've decided to undertake this spring. Once, when we lived in Washington, I tried to grow tomatoes. I learned I wasn't very good at growing tomatoes but I was pretty darn good at feeding snails. At least there was life supported from my labors, just not my own!

My fabulous neighor has her own little basement greenhouse and she's sharing her stash of sprouted plants with me! Tomorrow, we buy the materials and prepare the area. The plan is on Monday night to build the boxes.

I'm dreaming of fresh tomatoes from my very own garden. Todd is dreaming of the corn. And both of us just hope to actually grow something for a change!

A friend

A friend lost her house early this morning. Her family is safe, but they lost their dog in the fire. I'm heartbroken for her and her family. And I pray that they can quickly recover and repair from their loss, although I imagine it will be a long road.

Wii are crazii!

We have Wii madness at this house. Every friday night is Wii night with the boys. I have come to realize just how old I am from this darn machine! But despite my sore muscles and lack of coordination and bad scores, I'm loving this thing!

Oh, and I'm the champion bowler in the house! GO MII!

April Fool's Day

Today we played a prank on our boys. For breakfast we bought them the "good cereal", you know the chocolate kind and the fruity kinds? Yep, we bought some at the store last night as a reward for getting their chores done. After they went to bed we replaced the "good cereal" with the "yucky cereal". We put bran flakes inside the boxes. Glued the bottoms shut and giggled thinking about their reactions.

My 12 year old was the first to partake of the cereal. After pouring it in his bowl, he looked at me and said "Mom, I know what day it is." His brothers were very confused. We didn't "fool" him, but the kids giggled all morning about it!
