Our Easter Suprise!

On Easter Sunday we saw a mama bird in her nest! As we reflect on new life and the resurrection, to see this simple act in nature touched me.

It's hard to believe it's been a year since this cute little red-headed boy joined are family! He's just a joy to our lives! Happy Birthday to my little man!

Finding a Good Mechanic

Is it possible to find a good mechanic? Car repairs are a HUGE stress for me. We needed some work done on our minivan. One of the power doors wasn't working. $285 later, the mechanic decided the contacts needed to be cleaned. UGH! We were under the impression that he knew what he was doing as he came recommended. He decided to clean the contacts AFTER ripping apart the door and telling us he couldn't find the problem. I guess we should have asked what exactly he did to troubleshoot the problem. We paid for a lot of labor that was unnessecary. Needless to say, we will NOT be bringing our cars back to this repair shop. The whole "tuning up" of the door that he did should have been $90, not $285!!! Sad thing is, most people I talk to have a hard time finding a good mechanic too. I know they are out there, we've had them other places we've lived. The ones that are fair, tell you what needs to be fixed, tell you what you can put off if money is an issue, and are thorough in their repair job.

Oh well...live and learn, and lose money in the process!

Well, he didn't place and isn't going to State, but he had a great time playing Dance Dance Revolution at the school and I think I have a new partner for when we buy one for our house! YAY!

History Fair here we come!

J, my oldest son who is in the 6th grade, is going to the district History Fair competition. His group received a superior score at the school level. To learn more about what a history fair is go to http://nationalhistoryday.com/. Now, would it be "uncool" for his parents to hang around the college tomorrow and watch the competition? I just hope he gets an approving nod. He and his 2 partners on the project were really excited about their subject and even visitied the site! I'll keep you updated on how well he does.
